Consensus Inclusion Criteria for Text in This Article
- Real world aircraft (not fictional or made-up aircraft) that have significant roles in books, films, video games and as toys, provided reliable refs are supplied.
- For fictional characters who assume the form of an aircraft - inclusion only as a one sentence summary and only for primary aircraft, not one-time configurations.
- All media types included under article subheadings by aircraft type with at least one link to the article about the aircraft type itself.
- The aircraft must have a significant role in the work and not simply being seen. Appearances in games are considered non-notable except for notable games dedicated to the specific aircraft.
- Third party references are needed to show the notability of the appearance. Primary references, such as the book, game or movie itself, are not sufficient for inclusion.
- Aircraft type articles that have entries here should have Notable appearances in media sections that simply refer to this article, in a manner like Sikorsky MH-53#Notable_appearances_in_media.

Mil Mi-24
[edit]The Mil Mi-24 made his first two movie appearances in Rambo:First Blood Part II (1985) and Rambo III (1988). They are both piloted by the main antagonist of each movie, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei T. Podovsky in Rambo II and Soviet Colonel Alexei Zaysen in Rambo III. In both movies, the Mil Mi-24 has a major part in the decisive battles between John Rambo and both colonels in the end of the movies 81.207.73.38 (talk) 16:22, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- The Rambo films and Red Dawn used Aérospatiale SA 330 Pumas modified to look like the Mi-24 in 1980s. Refer to the Aérospatiale Puma section in the main article. -Fnlayson (talk) 05:41, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
747 Trijet appearances
[edit]The video game Splatoon 3 has a stage called "Marlin Airport", with an unnamed aircraft that looks very much like the proposed 747 Trijet. Is this notable enough to include? 85.234.213.181 (talk) 12:40, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- Is there a reliable source identifying it as that and does it do more than just appear? Niteshift36 (talk) 14:43, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Niteshift36 It's prominent in the background but no more 85.234.213.181 (talk) 20:46, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see anything that looks like a 747 Trijet in Splatoon. I see something that looks like a stubby 747, with 3 engines at the back, but that's not what the 747 Trijet design looked like as it had regular 2 engines under the wing, and one at the back. And remember, the 747 Trijet wasn't a real plane, it was never made and therefore doesn't belong in this list anyway as it's not real. Canterbury Tail talk 20:52, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

- Oh don't apologize, you brought something here in a good way and with all the best of intentions. You've done nothing wrong and I appreciate your efforts and hope you stay around and edit. Canterbury Tail talk 23:30, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

Large chunk missing?
[edit]Hello, just found this article and it feels like some lines are missing? The list skips from E to M without a heading for the letter M. I had a look through the edit history and couldn't find any particularly large changes that would've caused this, so I don't think it's vandalism, just looks like someone (perhaps me?) needs to fill the rest out. I'll add the M heading now. Markvdean (talk) 13:15, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- It was broken in this edit. The editor removed the end of a comment tag to make the Typhoon appear, but didn't remove the beginning tag of the comment. This caused a large percentage of the article to be taken as a hidden comment instead of rendering it. Canterbury Tail talk 13:48, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
V-22 Osprey Additions
[edit]The V-22 Osprey has been featured prominently in the video game Half-Life by Valve Software https://half-life.fandom.com/wiki/V-22_Osprey Wiki page documenting its usage.
The V-22 Osprey was also used in Grand Theft Auto Online, dubbed the Mammoth Avenger there. https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Avenger_(plane)
My attempts to add these facts to the article failed and got reverted, in truth, editing Wikipedia has become rocket science at this point. So I leave the facts here, and whoever wants to add them the "proper" way can do so. Gurluas (talk) 00:21, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
